Become the flute in His hand
Vasantha: Swami, I long to listen to the music of Your flute, will You play for me?
Swami: You are My flute. You are My song. When I play on you, the music of My Atma flows into the books you are writing. These books attract the whole world. You are the flute, that I play.
This conversation reminds me of a song, which I wrote many years back.
Oh Kanha! Make me Your flute
Let the sweetness from Your lips flow through me!
Make me a flower
Let me decorate Your crown!
Make me a garland
Let me adorn Your neck!
Why did I ask Swami to make me His flute? It is because, Radha alone can be Krishna’s flute. Bhagavan Baba once said that Radha breathed her last listening to Krishna’s flute, her head resting on His lap. After this, Krishna broke the flute, never to play it again. Radha is the song of Sri Krishna’s soul, so she merged in Him. Sri Krishna also merged in Radha.
Swami said, “You have filled My being. I have filled yours. I have merged in you, you have merged in Me. You have said that we should be mixed in a giant blender. This is that state. We are not two, we are one.”
When we are egoless and hollow like a flute, Bhagavan can play on us. We can become the flute in His hand. For this, we have to be absolutely free from ego and surrender ourselves totally.
We can become the humble flower at His feet.
There are many kinds of flowers, some are wasted when they drop to the ground, and some get trodden on, while others are offered to the Lord and have the good fortune to be at His divine feet. These flowers get the prayerful reverence; this is the highest attainment.
Each one of us should try and become a flower at His feet. Do you wish to become His flower or do you want to fall by the wayside.
Try making an effort. It’s in your hands alone.
