The New Veda

When I was at Sankarankoil, Manivannan brought my mail from Vadakkampatti. I took out Kothai’s letter first and gave it to Kaveri to read.

What a wonder! The letter described Kothai’s emotional outpouring from hearing a MO️VIE SO️NG.

The name of the movie in Tamil is ‘Vedam Puthithu’, meaning the New Veda. I am going to share with you my feelings, when I read the letter.

The name of the movie matched one of the 108 names that Swami had given me, ‘Nava veda maarga sthapanaayai’, the one who established the new veda. Bhagavan said, “You have opened the doors of the new veda…”

Now let us see the song.

The first line is:

‘kaikuttai kaadhal kaditham yezhuthiya urava’
… A message of love sent with a handkerchief.

This line amazed me. It reminds me of the chapter, ‘A message of love’. The kerchief that I received from Bhagavan arrived at a time, when my heart was breaking; only Swami knows how He saved my life!

I felt like Sita when she received Sri Rama’s ring.

I have written thousands of letters to Swami, countless letters, but no reply came for any of them. When I received Kothai’s letter about this song, I realized that the kerchief was actually a reply from Swami. My relationship with Swami is exclusively based on innermost feelings. Though there is an outer relation, it is verily just feeling. The kerchief inspired a feeling that I had received a letter from Him. Maybe it was for this reason that I felt so blissful that day.

Although He speaks with me in meditation, if I receive a message from His physical form, it is new life! Even now, I write my books as open letters to Swami. I express in them my heart-felt feelings, my Prema for Him. They are tearful messages to my Lord. I am writing only for Him. I consider the kumkum, vibhuthi that manifest on the books as His reply.

Yesterday Swami said, “Your writing is your autobiography.” I write my inner most feelings; they are overflowing with Premaamrit.

Another line from the song says:

‘Should the plants blame the buds if they were to blossom by the touch of the breeze?’

The day when I felt the breeze of Sai, the bud of Prema blossomed and started to spread its fragrance.

Should the plants blame the buds? This is a good question. It is natural for the buds to flower by the touch of the breeze. Why should the plants blame it? Who can stop the buds from blooming?

CAN PREMA BE CONTROLLED?

The outpouring of Prema towards my Lord cannot be stopped or controlled by anybody or anything. What is the use of blaming or criticizing? Can you stop the lotus from blooming when it sees the sun?

The next line reads:

‘If the holy basil plant were to grow beyond the fence, will the Vedas allow it’?

No, they do not permit it.

In the chapter ‘Atma sanyas’, I have said that Atma sanyas is crossing the boundary called the body. It is also crossing all the boundaries of scriptural rules and traditions.

Do the vedas allow this? No.

But to the one who seeks God alone, who has crossed all boundaries of rules and rituals, the Lord of the Vedas Himself will come and make him His own.

TO SUCH A ONE, THE LORD CONFERS HIS FEET.

Kothai has written that listening to the song, she came to know about Atma consciousness and Braham nishta (to become established in the Self). Who wants Atma consciousness and Brahma nishta? I feel like shouting, “My Swami’s kerchief is enough for me!” How can I express the Prema that fills this thought? For the one who treasures a strand of His hair, what a fortune Swami’s kerchief is?

Kothai says, “Prakrithi, the female aspect of creation called Amma, merges with Purusha, the male aspect of creation called Swami, in Brahma Nishta.” This is my state. I don’t know if it is called Brahma nishta. Whatever it is, I only know Swami.

Always, every moment I am with Him. This is Truth. The three-lettered word ‘Sai’ has produced this alchemy in me.

There is no advaitha without dvaitha. We must a start in duality and end in non-duality.

When I am merged with Saguna Brahma (God with attributes) called ‘The Great Lord Sai,’ the ‘i’ consciousness disappears and the consciousness of Him alone remains. This is Brahma nishta!

An ordinary movie song, seen in a spiritual sense, gives a profound meaning to Kothai. She is writing an account of my life as “Oru Jeevan Sivamakirathu.” (A jeeva becomes Shiva).

Swami has said, “When the book is completed the jeeva called Kothai, will become Shiva.”

Sri Vasantha Sai Amma
Om Sri Sai Vasanthaamrutha Dhaayakaaya Namaha
Om Sri Sai Vasantha Saiesaiya Namaha
